Their first product, The Spanner™ temporary stent for the prostate, is designed for men with urinary voiding dysfunction due to an obstructed prostate.
The Spanner™Prostatic Stent has received CE Mark and FDA approval and is currently marketed in the U.S. and abroad. The American Medical Association (AMA) has established Category I CPT®* code 53855 for the insertion of a temporary urethral stent for the prostate, including urethral measurement. The Spanner stent has been designed to open the prostatic urethra and allow patients to maintain urine flow and experience volitional voiding by reducing urethral resistance within the prostate. The Spanner stent is an alternative for some patients** to indwelling Foley catheterization, clean intermittent catheterization, or a suprapubic tube.
