iLumen Medical is developing a novel endoscopic based imaging technology designed to add lateral and retrograde view capability to current forward view devices. This technology is known as Retroview, and holds the promise to provide additional viewing capabilities with minimal costs, simplicity of use and adaptability across existing endoscope infrastructure. While this technology has many potential clinical applications, our initial focus is on development for colonoscopy use. iLumen licensed the technology from The Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and has partnered with them to develop the initial application device.
