Allvivo Vascular develops biomimetic coatings for medical devices. AVI's lead products are Gatekeeper™ and ProteoGuard®. Gatekeeper is a dual function coating that combines the benefits of a nonthrombogenic surface with an active antibacterial agent. ProteoGuard® actively downregulates inflammatory responses to devices and is highly thromboresistant. The ProteoGuard® stent coating provides a promising alternative to the use of immune-suppressive and cytotoxic drugs to prevent restenosis, while eliminating the requirement for long term dual antiplatelet therapy.
