Apnea-Tech Ltd (ATL) has been established to research, develop and commercialise a unique sensor-based technology to support the diagnosis of Sleep Apnea. Associations between untreated moderate or severe sleep apnoea have been demonstrated in several large population studies. Severe sleep apnoea confers a 2.6 times increased risk of incident myocardial infarction, coronary revascularization, congestive heart failure or cardiovascular death. The team over at Apnea-Tech are dedicated to bringing a low cost disposable device to the sleep apnoea market to support clinicians in identifying patients in need of intervention with their Sleep Apnea. This simple low cost approach has the potential to increase testing, increase secondary care capacity and reduce the significant co-morbidities and healthcare costs associated with sleep apnoea
