Averard Medical Devices is a new company that specialises in developing and producing devices for use during surgery. The company has patented a new device that is currently undergoing analysis through a usability study with the Health Innovation Hub in NUI Galway. Device design and modification has occurred through collaboration with the research team at Synecco, Galway. Original design was created through DesignInc, Nutley Lane, Dublin and patents have been filed. This is a class 1 medical device and regulatory approval is being sought. An extensive search of similar devices has occurred and the next step in production / distribution / marketing will happen shortly.
