Supplier of fine orthodontic and oral surgery hand instruments Beck Instruments' founder, Ernest A. Beck, wanted to offer the highest quality instruments to orthodontists. Knowing that the world's greatest technology and expertise was in Germany during the 1930s, he decided to apprentice with German surgical instrument manufacturers. At the time, apprentices were also trained in dental clinics alongside dental professionals in addition to the experience gained working in the factories. Returning home to the United States in 1954, Ernie began importing the highest quality German manufactured instruments. Armed with his sample bag and possessing the firsthand knowledge of his products' superiority, he directly called on dental and orthodontic offices. Ernie's goal for E.A. Beck & Co. was to combine his knowledge and sales of quality instruments with excellent customer service. For over 60 years, Beck Instruments has been in the business of manufacturing and supplying imported and domestic dental instruments.
