"If you'd hate to see your own mother get ripped off – like what happened to my mother – you'd understand why I created Blue Angels Hearing." You never know when a life-changing event will happen. Mine started innocently enough at my Mom's for Christmas in 2015. It was great seeing her for the first time in a while, but as the day went on, I noticed how often she said "What?" when people spoke to her. Finally, it dawned on me that she simply couldn't hear very well, so I (tactfully) asked her about it. "But I just spent $3,700 for hearing aids!" I was floored – $3,700 for a pair of hearing aids??? I practically choked on my cranberries! Turns out she had lost one of the hearing aids earlier, but at that price she couldn't afford to replace it. I felt my blood pressure rising with each passing moment. Christmas means the world to my Mom, and here she was, missing out! Right then and there, I made it my mission to make hearing aids affordable. I immediately began to research the industry and quickly discovered that it is dominated by big, greedy companies that charge $3,500-$6,000 for a pair of hearing aids -- while the real cost to manufacture them is much, much less. So they get the big profits while people like my Mom get the shaft. I also learned that a hefty chunk of this money goes to middlemen, so in creating my own company, Blue Angels Hearing, I made cutting that guy out of the picture a top priority. As a result, my company's able to offer high-quality, physician-designed hearing aids to fit virtually any budget!
