About
We believe effective wound care can be simpler and smarter. Cerdak provides an advanced, non-medicated solution for chronic and acute wounds. Our unique South African-developed ceramic technology promotes rapid natural healing while actively binding bacteria. Our core mission is to empower healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes while supporting the vital goal of antimicrobial stewardship. Join us in setting a new standard for wound care. The Cerdak ceramic wound dressing consists of ceramic granules sealed in a sterile pouch. The microporous ceramic in the dressing absorbs excess wound moisture, while microorganisms suspended in the moisture adsorb onto the surface of the ceramic. This process confers the dressing's antimicrobial properties. The combination of adsorption and exposure to atmospheric oxygen on the clean, moist wound bed creates ideal conditions for natural, fast, and effective healing. Cerdak maintains a micro-moist environment and optimises the function of the biochemical elements normally active in fresh wound exudate. This promotes the healing of skin defects, regardless of their cause. While the cause of the wound does not influence Cerdak's action, normal surgical principles of wound care should still be followed. However, it is recommended to keep handling of the wound to a minimum when using Cerdak dressings. This approach preserves the natural regeneration of cells during the healing process.
