Cerovations, LLC is a Minnesota medtech developer focused on linking promising medical device inventions to non-dilutive grant funding, and then commercializing the technologies to corporate strategic partners with established sales channels.
Cerovations licensed its first University of Minnesota medical device invention in the summer of 2018, and then filed for a Phase I SBIR grant in January of 2019. By September, news of the grant award was delivered to Cerovations. By that time, a 2nd license had been negotiated from the University of Minnesota, and a 2nd SBIR grant submission had been filed. The business strategy is to rely on SBIR Phase grant funding to develop early stage inventions such that they are de risked enough for licensing or acquisition.
Technologies
Dual Lumen CSF Shunt
The project technological innovation is a Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF) shunt that minimizes the need for revision surgery and is compatible with current CSF shunt protocols. The proposed product is a distal catheter incorporating modular redundancy, a well-known principle for increasing reliability by duplicating critical components.
Electrophysiologic EVD (eEVD) TBI Catheter
The project technological innovation is an electrophysiologic external ventricular drain (eEVD) with electrocorticography capabilities enabling automated neuro-electrophysiologic analysis in traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients.
