ChitoTech was founded as a research center with the main aim of exploring marine biopolymers' properties and the results of studies shed light on their extensive potential in medical products. The manufacturing site was established in 2004 and focused on producing advanced wound care and hemostatic products. Currently, ChitoTech manufactures a wide range of over 60 products specifically designed for wound care management and hemostasis, antiseptic solution, hygiene products, first aid boxes and adhesive dressings. ChitoTech Founder Dr. Soheila S. Kordestani, the founder of ChitoTech is a protein chemist, graduated from Leeds University in 1990. She worked as a research fellow at the Department of Medicine at Birmingham University and she has been working in the field of wound healing for the last 25 years. She was a faculty member and a lecturer in Biomedical Engineering Department at the Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran and her primary teaching focus was on the topic of wound healing and the role of biomaterials, aimed at graduate students. ChitoTech products were administered to countless individuals across the globe. The conclusion of almost two decades of dedicated efforts to gather the findings obtained from the utilization of cutting-edge wound management techniques on a significant population has been gathered and featured in "Atlas of Wound Healing: A Tissue Regeneration Approach" published by Elsevier in 2019. In addition, 23 articles concerning early researches and clinical studies on ChitoTech products have been published. ChitoTech products are protected by 29 US, European (UK, Germany, Denmark, France and Ireland) and national patents. Furthermore, all the products have the approval of Iranian Ministry of Health, CE mark and are in compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 14001 and GMP.
