Circleg is a Swiss-Kenyan social enterprise established in 2018, dedicated to providing affordable and sustainable lower-limb prosthetic systems for above-knee and below-knee amputees in East Africa. Originating from a university industrial design project in Switzerland, Circleg aims to improve mobility access for the millions of amputees who lack proper prosthetic care. The company’s flagship product, the Circleg One prosthetic, is designed in collaboration with prosthetists and amputees to meet the specific needs of users in the region. Made from reinforced and certified recycled plastic, these prosthetics are lightweight, durable, and environmentally friendly. Circleg operates a business-to-business model, supplying certified prosthetists and technicians in hospitals and clinics with the necessary components for fitting amputees. Their holistic approach to prosthetic care emphasizes accessibility and quality, aiming to empower users and foster a more inclusive society.
