About
Cornea Sense – Non-Invasive Diabetes Screening Through the Eye Cornea Sense is a future spin-out from Aalto University, launching later this year. We are developing a medical diagnostic device that screens for diabetes quickly, painlessly, and without blood or needles. Our patented technology measures corneal hydration, opening a new diagnostic pathway through the eye. Diabetes and pre-diabetes affect over 1 billion people worldwide, with almost half undiagnosed until complications are irreversible. Current blood-based tests are invasive, slow, and often miss early disease. Cornea Sense enables simple, non-invasive screening at the point of care - pharmacies, optometry clinics, and primary care - where accessibility and speed are essential. We have built and validated a prototype, confirmed strong patient and customer interest, and defined our business and go-to-market strategy. Next steps include spinning out in Q4 2025 and starting human testing. We are now fundraising to accelerate these milestones and bring scalable early diabetes screening to market.
