The Design of Medical Devices Conference (DMD) at the University of Minnesota is an annual event that gathers medical device designers, researchers, manufacturers, clinicians, and public sector representatives. Organized by the Earl E. Bakken Medical Devices Center, the conference highlights innovations in medical device design and engineering. DMD serves as a platform for presenting original research and new technologies. It features various tracks, including Advances in Medical Devices, Digital Health, and Medical Robotics. The conference also includes a Five-Minute Pitch Competition for papers with commercialization potential and offers networking opportunities through exhibitor booths and expert consultations. Accepted papers are published in the ASME Digital Collection, with select papers fast-tracked for publication in the ASME Journal of Medical Devices.
