EIO Technologies is a social enterprise based in the North East of England. The company was set up after a close family member was hospitalised in an emergency. During this time we saw the inability of many patients to be able to give their vital medical and contact details for several reasons. With this situation in mind, we have produced innovative products that can help people in an emergency situation. Our products have built in NFC (Near Field Communication) technology and this enables a person to have a safe, secure and convenient way of storing information that is useful in an emergency. People who come to help in such a situation can then access this information by scanning our products using a smart phone. The holder of the product can also access the information themselves (Eg. to remind themselves of prescription medication). As much or as little information as the holder wants may be stored, including serious medical conditions, allergies, emergency contact information, prescription medicines and dependents at home (including pet details!) If you have a medical condition, allergy or carry a specific medical device then this information is vitally important to the emergency services. It is also an essential product to give piece of mind to family members for anyone with a medical condition, a person who may be vulnerable or simply needs a voice in an emergency.
