EIR – Empowering Industry and Research is a research and business park within health science and technology situated in North Denmark. For the benefit of industry, the health sector, public institutions, and patients EIR contributes to: 1. Research-based and clinical innovation: development projects, maturing technologies, testing new solutions in the health sector 2. Internationalization: attracting funding, collaborators and companies 3. Research-based entrepreneurship: student entrepreneurship and spin-offs EIR is the joint research-based business development and collaboration platform within health science and technology in North Denmark. EIR was established in 2011 as a regional development project anchored at Aalborg University, Aalborg University Hospital, The North Denmark Region, all other hospitals in the Region, private companies, and all 11 municipalities in the Region.
