The Distraction Compression Reduction device (DCR) is the first system for minimally invasive (MI) spine surgery that integrates disc space distraction, compression and reduction of spondylolisthesis within a single device, allowing surgeons safe, time-saving control of these essential maneuvers during MI or traditional posterior lumbar fusion procedures (PLIF). The DCR System, developed and patented by FulcrumSpine Inc., was founded by Leslie Stern MD, PhD, FACS, a neurosurgeon with deep experience in MI spine procedures. The DCR project mission: There is an existential need for a safer, more efficient and reproducible method for patients to undergo a physically demanding posterior lumbar interbody fusion in either the minimally invasive or traditional mode is intended to address these impeding issues.
