GACD

GACD (Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases) is an international charitable organization dedicated to addressing chronic diseases through collaborative research. Established from the Grand Challenges Partnership in 2007, GACD became an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation in 2019. The organization focuses on funding and supporting research projects that target noncommunicable diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and mental health conditions. GACD's research initiatives span multiple countries across Africa, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Projects include nutrition interventions for African youth, blood pressure control trials, city-based physical activity programs, mental health care strategies, and cancer early detection initiatives in India. GACD serves as a facilitator and funder, connecting global health researchers, policymakers, and institutions to enhance chronic disease prevention and management efforts.
