My name is Martin Sørnes, and I am the founder of Hearoll Medical. Since 2006 I have been working on a new way to test hearing. We still test hearing almost the same way today as in the birth of audiology in the years after WW2. I have invented a product for free field audiometry. This product has the potential to become the main test device for audiology. Free field testing, opposed to headphones, is a more authentic way to test hearing as it also includes outer ear effects. 1,5 billion people in the world have some kind of hearing issue this very minute, and there are 430m people with disabling hearing loss in the world today. The majority of us will be a part of that number once we reach a certain age. For the sake of all these ppl, and our self, we need to develop a more accurate and relevant measurement of hearing. Two persons with exactly similar pure-tone hearing thresholds can have a different speech intelligibility score in noise. We need to test this, for everybody not just for the ones with APD. We as audiologist's needs to be able to test the effects of hearing aids clinically. Hearoll Medical's system offers that solution. This will lead to better client outcomes as audiologists will have a better understanding of the clients troubles in the real world. Better testing with implemented AI and ML solutions, can lead to, easier detection of rare diseases, more accurate diagnosis, and ultimately better fitting of hearing aids. The TAM for audiometers exceeds $400M. I know firsthand the importance of a diagnosis. As I have yet to be diagnosed with meniere's disease, despite considerably heavy efforts to be so. Although there is no cure, diagnosis is important to be able to get closure and move on with your life. I am looking for partners to design the software, someone to manage the regulatory process, and funding to build the prototype and get the core team in place. Let's build the future of audiometry!
