Heart Screens for Teens

Heart Screens for Teens is a program that is set out to make a difference in today's youth. After just a 10 minute scan, a board certified Pediatric Cardiologist can easily see if a teenager has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, or any other life threatening heart defects. In the United States, the #1 Recognized cause of Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is a heart muscle disorder known as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy or HCM. This illness, while rare, is thought to affect 1 in 500 persons of all ages. HCM usually manifests itself early in life (before age 20). This can often strike with no prior warning or symptoms in previously healthy young athletes. We are always looking for venues to host the scans. We are completely mobile and have the ability to scan thousands of teenagers a week.
