Hensler Surgical Products was created in 2011, between friends and colleagues, Sean Hensler, PA-C (Neurosurgery) and Dr. Thomas E. Melin (Neurosurgeon) in Wilmington, NC.
Prior to founding Hensler Surgical, Sean was a combat medic for the Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Lejeune with 1st Battalion 2nd Marines. He later completed his PA studies at Nova Southeastern and operated with Dr. Melin in Neurological Surgery for almost 13 years. Dr. Thomas Melin has nearly 30 years experience in neurological surgery. He completed his Neurosurgical training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The Hensler Bone Press and the Hensler Bone Collector are devices that were invented, engineered, and sold globally by Mr. Hensler and Dr. Melin. Both devices are centered around Autograft harvesting for spinal and orthopedic surgeries, decreasing not only the reliance of synthetics and/biologics, but improving the flow of the case while utilizing these devices intra-op. To date, the Hensler Bone Press has been used in over 16,000 cases, has clinical data from bone analysis down to a mesenchymal level, and the value proposition is a 1:1 savings, allowing for massive capital savings AND patient benefit.
Our Electrosurgical division of Hensler includes NON-stick bipolars that range from 8″ to 12″ lengths with 3 tip sizes, including irrigating forceps with a low profile irrigation channel.
We offer MIS endoscopic surgical devices for neural and soft tissue release and disposable technologies for Iliac crest harvesting that is truly cutting edge.
Our lines and offerings must satisfy the 3 core requirements: Improve patient care, improve current surgical practices, and demonstrate true value across the spectrum of other competitive devices, if any exist.
