Medical imaging is still a lengthy process. Similar to regular photography, medical images become blurred or show other artifacts when the patient moves while an image is being formed. These motion artifacts can lead to images that are difficult for a radiologist to interpret, which ultimately may lead to equivocal diagnostic results or require repeat studies. As medical imaging is expensive, and overlooking any abnormality should be avoided by any means, a technology that avoids patient motion right at the outset is highly desirable. Many attempts have been made to motion-correct medical imaging studies, but all address only a small subset of imaging studies. HobbitView was started by radiologists and medical imaging scientists who understand the problem from both the diagnostic and technological vantage point.
