The HYVAN is an anaesthetic machine ideal for anaesthetists who require a compact, portable and reliable machine. It offers a fully adjustable user interface with clear and simple patient settings. It is easy to use and can serviced in a hospital workshop without specialist tools. Hyvan Anaesthesia Limited has modified the Hyvan Anaesthetic Machine to function as a simple ventilator for Covid-19 patients. It is anticipated this ventilator will serve as a back up ventilator should all ICU ventilators be in use. For the past 17 years Dr John Hyndman and engineer Ivan Batistich have been developing a compact, affordable, reliable and robust anaesthesia machine. When John was working as a volunteer anaesthetist in the Pacific Islands and developing countries he recognised that the hi-tech equipment used in the developed world was not appropriate for developing countries. What was needed was an affordable, high quality, reliable anaesthetic machine that could be serviced in hospital workshops.
