At iHnnova LLC, we are redefining cancer treatment by harnessing the power of precision thermal therapy. Spun out of years of academic research and biomedical innovation, the company is developing a medical device that uses magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH) to treat early stage low risk to favorable intermediate risk prostate cancer with precision and control. Our core product is a handheld transrectal induction heater, purpose-built for focal cancer therapy. Unlike other existing thermo-focal treatments, our approach leverages high intensity and high frequency alternating magnetic fields and biocompatible nanoparticles to heat only the target tissue, while avoiding the healthy structures surrounding it. The overall goal is to provide patients a better choice between the uncertainty of active surveillance and the adverse side effects of aggressive treatments. We are headquartered in Puerto Rico, where we have an active NSF STTR Phase I in collaboration with the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and the support from researchers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs to bring our innovation to the market.
