Intelligenza Trasparente s.r.l. (Intra) is a startup operating in the field of cranial prostheses within the neurosurgical field. Intra is the first cranial prosthesis that allows the patient suffering from brain tumor to be able to perform close, rapid and inexpensive checks deploying unfocused ultrasound and, in case of set-backs, to treat the new onset without invasive surgeries and without toxic treatments. The Intra technology is also able to open the natural barriers preventing anticancer drugs from reaching the brain. The invention, covered by patents owned by the company, has four clear advantages. - Access to non-invasive treatments using focused ultrasound. - Transient abatement of the blood-brain barrier, making effective drugs that could represent a valid treatment. - Enabling the use of close and economically accessible ultrasound investigations. - Availability for the production of customized cranial prostheses. Intra won the InnodriverS3 competition for Regione Lombardia and was ranked second in the UnicreditStartLab 2018 life science section.
