About
JAK Rescue is solely dedicated to build the safest lifting device, not for just the Fire/EMS community, but safe for our patients that we are lifting. So many agencies are using devices not even designed for lifting. From years of lifting patients, I have found that a lot of them have rotator injuries, arm injuries, old back injuries and many other problems. We would grab these patients by their arms or under their shoulders and lift them to their feet. It worked but I could feel snaps and pops and I knew we were not doing our best to help these patients. So I invented the JAK Harness, this device lifts the patients by their butt's. The patients are attached to the device, which gives us ultimate control of the patient. We are now able to lift a patient and if they are unable to stand, we can lower them back into the sitting position and move them to a cot or chair. It was important that this device was easily sterilized before putting it back in the fire truck or ambulance. We wanted it to be able to use safe lifting ergonomics, also to provide a barrier between us and the patient, so we could get the load closer to our bodies. On most squads, there are only two people, so we wanted to be able to use two lifters and up to six. We wanted it to be lightweight with no parts that can be lost or left in a home. Most importantly, we wanted it to easily go on a patient. (It takes 15 seconds to put on a patient). The last idea we had was we wanted to be able to drag a patient out of a tight spot and into a more open area to lift the patient. We are very proud that our JAK Harness meets all these criteria! Yet, still affordable!
