Founded in 2011 by Dr Jung Joo Lee in Seoul, South Korea, LivsMed is a leading international medical device company specialising in the development of innovative solutions for modern surgery. With three locations in the USA, Japan and Europe - represented here by LivsMed GmbH in Bochum, Germany, since 2021 - LivsMed sets standards in medical technology. Around the world, 250 employees are committed to pushing the boundaries of surgical progress and improving patients' quality of life. LivsMed GmbH was founded in Bochum in May 2021 and has since been responsible for the entire EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). While direct sales take place in Germany, the company works with external distribution partners in all other countries. The European office has already reached important milestones even before it was officially established: In April 2020, ArtiSential received CE certification, followed by the first clinical procedure with the innovative technology at St. Marien-Krankenhaus Siegen in September 2020. In June 2021, the first official sale of ArtiSential to this hospital took place. Just one month later, LivsMed appointed St. Marien-Krankenhaus Siegen as the first European reference centre.
