LMA Optimizer BV is developing LarynxLock to help anesthesiologists solve the leakage problem when ventilating patients with a Laryngeal mask. LarynxLock does not replace the laryngeal mask but it is an additional flexible headband with a specially formed pressure plate. This pressure plate pressurizes the soft floor of the mouth and corrects the internal anatomy of the patient. This way the leakage of the laryngeal mask is reduced to an acceptabel level without the disadvantages of the current solutions.
When using LarynxLock…:
– there is much lower risk for the patient compared to more invasive intubating.
– the surgery is not interrupted because the patient does not need to come off the ventilation.
– the intervention is less expensive than intubating
– the intervention takes less time in the OR.
So, why not use LarynxLock?
