LPixel, a spin-out venture from the University of Tokyo, is a leader in advanced image analysis software and systems tailored to life science research. With strong emphasis on integrating top-tier technologies to its services and strong dedication to maximize research efficiency, LPixel aims to bring innnovation to the world of research.
LPixel was founded in March 2014 by three members working in the same research laboratory in the University of Tokyo. Since the establishment of the laboratory in 2000, LPixel has continued to lead image analysis technology in the biological sciences. LPixel is involved in three major national projects including ImPACT led by the Cabinet Office, CREST organized by Japan Science and Technology Agency, and various other projects sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to support the advancement of strategic core technologies. LPixel’s strength is derived from unifying imaging technology and its expertise in the life sciences field, giving rise to a cloud-based image analysis platform catered for life science images, namely IMACEL, and the medical image analysis diagnostic support system designed to detect cancers and diseases.
