China's Best One-Stop Medical Equipment Provider
About

90% of the 528,000 cases and 266,000 deaths from cervical cancer in 2012 occurred in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). The prevalence of cervical cancer in LMICs can be partly attributed to issues with visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA) testing, which is the standard for screening due to its low cost and accessibility. The method shows poor diagnostic sensitivity (67-79%) and specificity (49-86%). Founded by Columbia University biomedical engineers, Luso Labs LLC addresses critical problems associated with VIA testing through the low-cost cerVIA screening system. Coupling a custom camera with a lesion detection algorithm in a speculum-fitted device, the cerVIA system detects precancerous lesions on the cervix in a manner that integrates easily into existing clinical practices. With a goal to reach patients in India within 3 years, Luso Labs LLC welcomes feedback, collaborations, funding opportunities and people who want to join our cause.
