With more than 500 employees, we are operating worldwide in the sense of movement: founded in 1946 and in medical technology since 1958, we develop, produce and distribute products for artificial joint replacement, synthetic bone graft substitute and sports medicine: In 2012, under the lead of a research group of the two Bernese hospitals Sonnenhof AG Bern and Inselspital, Mathys Ltd Bettlach developed a new method for treating a freshly ruptured cruciate ligament. With the Ligamys implant, the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament can be preserved, and the possibility of regeneration is offered. Our proven products and our passion for innovation have brought us from a small business to a globally operating Swiss family company – today, we are one of the leading European developer and producer in orthopaedics. The families Mathys and Marzo own the company with its twelve subsidiaries in Europe and the Asian pacific region in the 3rd generation.
