Medepax is a newly formed medical devices company aiming to introduce its flagship product, Therma-Ven, in 2015. Therma-Ven is a patch whose unique tri-element design will assist the difficult process of cannulation and venepuncture by significantly improving vein visibility and access.
Cannulation and venepuncture are two of the most commonly performed procedures in the NHS. They are notoriously difficult due to a number of technical factors impeding vein visibility with the average number of attempts to successful cannulation currently standing at 2.84.
Alongside significant patient discomfort, the NHS and private healthcare providers must weather the impact of wasted equipment alongside valuable medical personnel time. Therma-Ven intends to halve the average number of attempts required, thereby improving patient and doctor experience, whilst massively cutting health industry costs.
