About
MedTech Flanders was established in 2015 as an umbrella organization to represent and support companies in the medical technology sector in Flanders, Belgium. It was created by a consortium of stakeholders to advocate for innovative medical technology firms and to provide a voice for the sector within the Flemish government. Over the years, it grew significantly in membership and contributed to the regional healthtech ecosystem. In December 2022, MedTech Flanders transitioned its activities to MEDVIA, a public-private partnership founded in 2021. MEDVIA focuses on fostering innovation at the intersection of biotechnology, medtech, and digital medicine. It offers project funding, tailored services, training, networking opportunities, and ecosystem support to enhance health innovation in Flanders. MEDVIA aims to consolidate the healthtech sector by unifying organizations and their members, thereby accelerating research and development as well as commercialization of health technologies.
