Established in 1982 in Leeds, UK, Neoligaments is a leading British medical device company specializing in the design, development, manufacture and supply of implantable textile-based scaffolds for the sports medicine and orthopaedic markets.
The company was launched following the successful development of the Leeds-Keio Ligament: a result of collaborative research between Dr. Bahaa Seedhom of the Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Research Unit at Leeds University and Dr. Kyosuke Fujikawa of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Keio University in Tokyo. Since then the Neoligaments portfolio has grown to include an extensive range of products for a wide range of ligament, tendon and soft tissue injuries.
The sterile implantable scaffolds are manufactured in-house at our state-of-the-art factory premises in Leeds, under a strict quality management system which operates to a number of international standards. In 1993 we were registered by the British Standards Institution (BSI) to ISO 9001, and in 1995 to EN 46001. This enabled us to become one of the first UK companies eligible to CE mark its products under the EU Medical Device Directive. In 2004 we gained accreditation to ISO 13485. We have also been successfully inspected by the FDA.
