Nocitech is developing a novel system for quantitative, objective pain assessment that enables a mechanism-based quantification of pain sensitivity. The mechanistic approach can differentiate whether the pain is associated with mechanisms in the peripheral or central nervous system. Purpose: The mission of NociTech is to provide novel quantitative tools for pain assessment. Our aim is to revolutionize the way pain patients are diagnosed and treated. Technology: Cuff pressure algometry is a novel technology for quantitative, objective pain assessment that enables a mechanism-based quantification of pain sensitivity in pain research and profiling of new analgesic compounds under development. Research: Cuff pressure algometry has been documented to be reliable and reproducible. The method has furthermore been widely used to study pain mechanisms in healthy controls and in patients with chronic pain conditions.
