Nordiq Products is developing a user-friendly and robust device for monitoring respiration, pulse and blood oxygen level. It is small, portable, and easy to use in any situation and operational environment.

The problem we are solving:

Even a short-lasting loss of airway patency can be life-threatening to many patients. Consequently, monitoring a patient’s airway and breathing is of utter importance in many scenarios. This requires substantial clinical skills and awareness. The problem is more pronounced when monitoring multiple patients and in challenging environments, examples include overfilled hospitals, field hospitals, intrahospital transportation, prehospital settings, and military settings.

Our solution:

We are developing a device to enable easy, yet reliable monitoring of the airway and breathing in the hospital as well as other settings. Adding to the versatility of the unit will be the relatively small size and attachment directly to the patient’s neck. Proposed uses:
– In the intrahospital setting during transport, imaging procedures or procedures requiring sedation.
– In the intrahospital setting during emergency preparedness when wards are full and need to reorganize, and monitoring capacity is exhausted.
– In the prehospital setting when conventional monitoring is unavailable due to the situation, or as supplement monitoring when additional respiratory control is called for.
– In the military or prehospital setting where multiple casualty incidents, challenging environments, and rough modes of transportation make the attention of medically trained personnel a very scarce resource.
– In the setting of a field hospital or other temporary medical unit where mobile, light equipment is needed.

Our device will utilize multiple technologies and smart signal processing to make monitoring of the patient both simple and more reliable. Our goal is to make the design and application easy and make it a preferred device even in critical situations.
