OsteoDx has developed a non-invasive medical device that uses proprietary Cortical Bone Mechanics Technology™ (CBMT) to measure the structural mechanics of cortical bone to accurately gauge low-trauma fractures and aid in the treatment of osteoporosis.
Developed by researchers at Ohio University, the CBMT™ innovation exceeds the current standard of bone density measurement. OsteoDx’s technology utilizes vibration analysis to measure the cortical bone stiffness of the ulna through a radiation-free, non-invasive, painless, and easy-to-administer device. CBMT accurately identifies the patient’s risk of fragility fracture that allows intervention and treatment to prevent fractures from occurring in the first place.
Currently, our work is focused on the development of a scientific laboratory instrument to aid researchers in the study and treatment of bone fractures and osteoporosis. Upon FDA approval, we will provide the technology to the commercial markets. For more information, contact us at [email protected].
