The U.S. subsidiary is based in Somerset, New Jersey. The company specializes in bone-anchored hearing systems (BAHS) and cochlear implants. The Ponto bone conduction implant, now in its fifth generation, is designed for individuals with conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, or single-sided deafness. Following the acquisition of Neurelec in 2013, Oticon Medical expanded its offerings to include cochlear implants for those with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss. Their products aim to restore hearing by bypassing damaged parts of the ear and directly stimulating the auditory system, providing alternatives for patients who do not benefit from conventional hearing aids.
