OUI Medical is transforming the diagnostic market by moving minimally invasive abdominal surgery from the operating room to the patients' bedside. We have developed a novel, on-demand laparoscope to directly visualize the abdomen that is stored at the bedside and used by single surgeon under local anesthesia in an ambulatory or ICU setting. This enables faster decision-making and triage, frees up the operating room, and significantly reduces costs for hospitals. Our initial target market is unexplained sepsis (saving upwards of $500k per 50 patients) and we will expand into trauma, cancer-staging, and additional out-patient procedures, including in women's health.
