Ratliff Histology Consultants

We provide contract histology services in support of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, sports medicine, periodontal, and cardiovascular research. I service both small and large animal preclinical models and specialize in resin/plastics histology in support of medical device evaluation of undemineralized bone and cardiovascular specimens. Primary capabilities include: small & large specimen thin (5 micron) section microtomy using either a motorized rotary microtome, a sliding/sledge microtome, or a recently developed non-contact laser microtome (Rowiak Tissue Surgeon); small & large specimen ground sectioning/polishing using the EXAKT Cutting & Grinding system; 2D histomorphometry and 3D microCT services; and histology consulting services that include both customized off-site (at your facility) or on-stie (at my lab) resin/plastics histology laboratory design, set-up and training.
