About

[In 2022, after 2 years all Recover@Home activities ended and the project team was dismantled] Recover@Home was a student team by Eindhoven MedTech Innovation Center (e/MTIC) that aimed to create innovative remote healthcare solutions by utilising innovative technologies to enable the recovery of patients at their home. Current recovery programs are mainly focussed on the physical parts of the process while the psychosocial aspects are less well covered while equally important. By means of virtual reality health technology, the Recover@Home team aims to find a way to asses the quality of life of recovering patients in a objective way, as it is currently only done in a subjective way (with questionnaires). The vision of the team is to provide patients with an unique experience in VR that will help the healthcare profesionals with assessing the mental health and quality of life of the patient. In order to achieve this goal, a continuous innovation loop with clinical partners will be developed, in order to keep learning to improve and expand on applications to serve the psychosocial needs of patients. Challenges provided by e/MTIC and other healthcare organisations allow students to utilize the Recover@Home platform to create and validate VR health applications.
