RELab ETH Zürich
About
RELab ETH Zürich is an interdisciplinary research laboratory at ETH Zurich, established in December 2008. It specializes in rehabilitation engineering, integrating knowledge from mechanical and electrical engineering, movement science, psychology, and neuroscience. The lab focuses on developing advanced technologies to explore, assess, and restore sensorimotor function, particularly for individuals recovering from neurological injuries like stroke, spinal cord injury, and Parkinson’s disease. The lab employs robotics, wearable sensor technologies, and non-invasive neuroimaging to enhance sensorimotor recovery. It develops robotic systems for upper limb rehabilitation, wearable exoskeletons, and assistive devices to promote patient independence. RELab also collaborates with healthcare providers and industry partners to translate research into commercial medical devices, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives in rehabilitation technologies. Directed by Prof. Roger Gassert, the lab emphasizes strong academic and industry collaboration to advance rehabilitation solutions.
