About
Nano-structured metals offer a variety of advantages over conventionally produced alloys, including higher strength, improved processing capabilities, and novel biological properties. However, there are no nano-structured metal alloys used in the manufacture of medical devices. That's because existing techniques either produce hard-metal alloys for mass production that aren't suitable for medical devices, or are used with softer metals than surgical-grade stainless steel or other medical alloys. Rosies Base LLC, a Boston-based startup, is the only supplier in the world of nanoSUS, a stainless-steel alloy that bridges that gap. Building on seven decades of precision manufacturing expertise, a proprietary metallurgical rolling process allows Rosies Base to mass-produce ultra-fine-grained metal alloys that are thinner and stronger than standard alloys.
