Shur-In™ is an exciting and unique new male external catheter that improves on many of the shortcomings of today's commonly used devices. Current male external catheters are clumsy to install and painful to the patient since glue is often applied in order to keep the catheter in place. In most cases, these catheters can only be in place for a short period of time. They also require different sizes for individual patients as they must be custom fit to the patient. This takes additional time by the nurse to accurately apply and remove the catheter. Different sizes drive up inventory costs as hospitals need to keep multiple sizes in stock at all times. Internal catheters can be very painful to apply and have a high risk to the patient for causing infection. Shur-ln™ fully addresses these concerns by providing a comfortable device that is easily applied and removed without the need for any type of adhesive or glue – no glue, no pain! Our product is a one-size-fits-most device that eliminates the need to carry multiple inventories at the hospital. The device is specially designed for longer periods of use by extended-stay patients. Shur-ln™ was designed by nurses on the floor who have to deal with male external catheters on a daily basis. The product is intended to save time for the nurses, save money for the hospital, save skin breakdown, and provide maximum comfort to the patient.
