Singapore Biodesign

Singapore Biodesign is a talent development platform in Singapore dedicated to health technology innovation. Established in 2010 and modeled after the Stanford Byers Center for Biodesign, it became an independent entity in 2018. The organization focuses on empowering the next generation of medtech and healthtech innovators in Asia through a needs-centric Biodesign Process. This process emphasizes identifying unmet clinical needs and developing sustainable healthcare innovations. The platform offers various programs, including the Innovation Fellowship, which provides intensive training and mentorship for healthtech innovators. Singapore Biodesign has trained over 1,500 individuals, including fellows, students, and industry professionals. It supports innovation through funding and mentorship for health technologies, having funded more than 59 projects and launched 16 spin-offs. The organization fosters a collaborative ecosystem involving academic, clinical, and industry partners, aiming to advance healthcare innovation across Asia.
