Smeed Technologies LLC manufactures The Medical Equipment Rail Kit (MERK) system. It is a highly flexible system designed to carry a wide range of off-the-shelf commercial purchased critical care transport equipment while simultaneously having to interface with a multitude of litter systems used in healthcare today. It is a transportable consolidated ICU unit that moves with the patient throughout all echelons of care. The system can be loaded onto a variety of aircraft and vehicles for constant monitoring of the patient during air or ground transport.
