SpyneTech
About
SpyneTech is a company composed of engineering and business students from San Diego State University and created the initial prototype as part of the Zahn center incubation program within the College of Engineering at SDSU. After noticing that many workers were wearing back braces incorrectly and assessing a need for a system which removed that constant necessity of loosening/tightening a back brace over and over through out the day, the idea was born. Our unique back brace automatically senses and reacts to body kinetics in order to provide support to the user when needed and releasing once they return to a null position. This allows full range of motion while not in a compromising position while also preventing muscle atrophe from having the brace tightened for extended periods of time, which could lead to further injury after removing the brace.
