Cutting Edge Technology and Surgical Procedure Development:
The Center for Surgical Innovation and Technology offers comprehensive services to design, build, and test novel technologies or surgical techniques, conducting cutting-edge large and small animal surgery in a State–of-the-Art surgical facility.
Minimally Invasive Learning Center – an Advanced Surgical Training Center:
The Center provides surgical training and performance assessment for all surgical disciplines.
Revolutionizing Surgery:
The Surgical Innovation and Technology Center, is a basic and applied research facility with emphasis on areas related to Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS). In addition, we specialize in addressing the fields of trauma, critical care and imaging.
Our facility consists of fully equipped surgery suits able to facilitate five full anesthesia/surgery stations simultaneously.
Expert Collaborative Services:
For those studies requiring collaboration with specialists in specific fields, the Center has the capabilities to provide such concomitant services.
Animal Studies:
We provide assistance throughout the entire process beginning with writing and obtaining approvals for Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols and animal ethics applications. Animal maintenance and care are provided by the Hebrew University Animal Care Unit (ACU), which is certified by AAALAC. The Center also offers acute short and long term survival animal studies, during which animals are housed in the ACU.
