About
Ultraviolet Interventions, Inc. (UVI) is a medical device company developing the use of ultraviolet fiber optics for treating and preventing catheter infections. Currently, there is no effective, acceptable treatment for catheter infections, aside from removal and replacement of an affected catheter. Catheter infections often result in Catheter-Related Blood Stream Infections (CRBSIs), which have an estimated incidence of 250,000 events per year in the US alone, leading to approximately 28,000 deaths per year. UVI's mission is to address this cause of CRBSIs in order to save lives, improve patient health, and reduce heath care costs.
