About
Verium Diagnostic's CERSR® (Computerized Electrophysiological Reconstructed Spinal Regions) technology measures muscle activity of the lower back. Using the CERSR® system, a grid containing 63 sensors is placed on the surface of the patient's lower back to scan and record muscle activity. CERSR's patented software uses the data collected by the scan and produces a diagnostic report for the physician. The report includes physiological data as well as a graphic image of the back with color mapping of the patient's muscle activity. This report can help a physician pinpoint the location of pain with an accuracy that has not been possible before. Traditional imaging technology such as CTs or MRIs are excellent for anatomy (such as showing the bones in the spine) but cannot evaluate the muscles and soft tissue that can be the cause of low back pain.
