About
Victoria Hand Project (VHP) is a Canadian registered charity established in 2015. The organization focuses on designing and providing low-cost, highly functional 3D printed prosthetic arms for amputees around the world who have limited access to prosthetic care. VHP's mission is to promote health and alleviate poverty by delivering transformative prosthetic solutions that help recipients regain independence and improve their quality of life. VHP collaborates with local clinics and healthcare practitioners globally, offering equipment, training, and ongoing support for localized 3D printing and fabrication of prosthetic arms. This approach fosters sustainable, community-based care, enhancing clinic capacity and ensuring continuous support for amputees in under-resourced regions. The prosthetic arms are body-powered and designed to be affordable, costing approximately $100–150 USD in materials. VHP has trained over 50 clinicians and fitted nearly 400 beneficiaries across 11 countries, including urgent efforts in conflict-affected areas like Ukraine and regions with high prosthetic care needs such as Egypt and Kenya.
